THE LOU JAMES STORY
The first book of the Lou James story is titled FROM ONE LIFE TO THE NEXT, the second book is titled THE VOYEUR MASS, and the third book is titled THE LONELINESS OF LOVE.
FROM ONE LIFE TO THE NEXT begins in Port Samson, a quiet seaside town in the southeast of the state. Lou is fifteen years old when the story begins. Life in Port Samson is simple for Lou. He attends school during the week and rides his bike out to the Samson River at weekends where he spends many hours lying on the riverbank thinking about life, the world, and his part in it. Lou’s parents go out of town to attend a conference and arrange for him to stay with relatives in the city while they’re away. Lou meets Anna during his week in the city and discovers a side of life previously unknown to him. Upon his return to Port Samson, Lou begins planning his next visit to the city, but his plans are dashed when fate steps in.
THE VOYEUR MASS begins with Lou, now thirty-five, working as a golf instructor at Silver Springs Golf Course, a public golf course in the city’s southeast. The day is passing as many others had before it, but that’s about to change. Lou’s final student of the morning is Sophia Lee, the wife of high profile stockbroker, Roland Lee. The session begins well, but Sophia leaves halfway through the session. Howard Wilson, the Chairman of the golf teachers association and a personal friend of the Lees, begins an investigation in to Sophia’s session of golf instruction with Lou James that leads to an outcome he wasn’t expecting.
THE LONELINESS OF LOVE begins with Lou, now fifty-one, working for a firm of business brokers. Lou meets Sandra Wills at a business seminar and a strange relationship begins. Lou becomes increasingly frustrated with the relationship, but he then meets Juliette, one of Sandra’s new employees. A relationship develops between Lou and Juliette, and it appears to be just a matter of time until they’re together. There are, however, several obstacles placed in their way, not least of which is Lou’s relationship with Sandra. Will Lou finally grasp the love that’s been so elusive throughout his life? Will he and Juliette get together? The answer to those questions come to him while sitting on a rock ledge near the top of a mountain.
